Five people died after a train and a car had collided near Kunfehértó on Monday morning, the Bács-Kiskun County Police Headquarters reported on police.hu.
According to Mávinform’s previous statement, trains will not run between Kiskunhalas and Kunfehértó until the end of the investigation and technical rescue, a replacement bus will take the passengers.
Police said about the accident that the driver of the car and four passengers died on the spot.
According to the primary data, the passengers of the train were not injured, however, the train driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
During the investigation, a half-track traffic restriction is in place at kilometer 7 of road no. 5412.
Mávinform wrote that the accident happened at a railway crossing without a barrier, marked with an András cross.
They indicated that those traveling between Kecskemét and Baja should expect a longer travel time.
