Man Hit and Killed By Train at Kaposújlak

A train at Kaposújlak hit and killed a person on Monday morning, police reported on its website.

 

According to the announcement of the Somogy County Police Headquarters, on the outskirts of Kaposújlak, in the Sarkavár railway crossing, a train hit a pedestrian under hitherto unclear circumstances. The victim suffered so severe injuries that he died. During the on-site inspection, the railway crossing was closed by the police and traffic was diverted, the police reported. On the Facebook page of Mávinform, they wrote: the train from Dombóvár to Gyékényes hit a person in a railway crossing provided with a light barrier between Kaposvár and Kaposújlak.

Trains had run between Kaposvár and Kaposmérő until the end of the site investigation. Replacement buses had transported passengers between the two stations, they said.
