The crew of the Axiom-4 mission, including Hungarian research astronaut Tibor Kapu, departed from the International Space Station (ISS) on Monday. At 11:07 a.m. Hungarian time, the hatch of the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft carrying the astronauts was closed in preparation for the undocking process.
Following the closure of the hatch, procedures such as pressure equalization and safety checks prior to separation began.
The spacecraft is scheduled to initiate its undocking from the ISS at 1:05 p.m. Hungarian time. Using its maneuvering thrusters, it will gradually move away from the station and spend several hours orbiting Earth independently, steadily descending to a lower altitude in preparation for what is known as the “deorbit return” — the process of reentering Earth’s atmosphere.
