Hajdu-Bihar County in debt

Economy Local News

Out of the 541.000 residents of Hajdu-Bihar, nearly 5.500 haven’t paid their credits for 90 days and the number of the terminated credit contracts is approximately the same.

If we take average, 4-member families, it means 44.000 people and the number of those who are in difficulty because of various credits is almost double as much. Law-enforcement has already been started against some of them.
In the villages of the county, particularly civil credits cause problems. The number of those in imminent danger accounts for roughly 15% of the population of the county. With the exception of Debrecen and Hajduszoboszlo, the area is not developing. A significant percent of the population depends on government aid, and is unable to pay back credits.
