The Centrist Democrat International (CDI), a Christian Democratic political formation, held a video conference to discuss as a priority the tackling of the coronavirus pandemic, the press chief of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said.

The meeting joined by Orbán, who is a vice-president of CDI, focused on schemes helping people who have lost their jobs because of the pandemic to find employment, Bertalan Havasi told MTI. The participants, including the Slovenian prime minister and the former presidents of Colombia and Lebanon, stressed the need to rebuild the economies and societies of the countries affected most by the crisis. They established that the way for a country to return to a normal daily operation is through implementing long-term measures, including job creation. Under Orbán’s proposal, the CDI asserted the objective to create as many jobs as were destroyed by the virus.
