The House of Music in Budapest’s City Park holds the 1st Far Eastern Classical Music Festival between September 1 and 4.
The festival also hosts children’s programmes and exhibitions, as well as an inter-disciplinary project where motifs from kimonos can be transformed into music. Masato Otaka, Japan’s ambassador to Hungary, praised the hosting venue designed by architect Fujimoto Sou, and its programmes. Otaka and Batta also planted a cherry tree near the House of Music, as a symbolic act of cooperation, “to signal the end of winter”.
