The International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF) will hold a congress in Budapest for the second time after sixty-one years.
The National Film Institute Hungary, the host of the event, said on Thursday that several hundred film professionals were scheduled to attend the event from all over the world on April 24-29. The congress will focus on archiving, preserving, digitising and sharing non-feature film collections, the Film Institute said. The presentations by international professionals will show participants effective ways to make available the non-feature-film heritage to the general public and professionals, it added. The programme will also include screenings of digitally restored works, including a 39 minute silent movie from 1914, The Work Jacket, which will be shown with live music accompaniment by the Jazzical Quintet.
