Blade cuts short track speed skater’s Achilles

Rebeka Sziliczei-Német short track speed skater fell on 1500 meter and the blade injured her leg so bad that she could not compete in the third stage of the ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating in Almaty.

Except for Sziliczei-Német’s unfortunate injury, Hungarians achieved good results in Kazakhstan in the Friday qualifiers. Liu Shaoang has succeeded on 500 and 1000 meters, Alex Varnyú on 1000 and 1500, Sándor Liu Shaolin, Csaba Burján and Petra Jászapáti on 500 and 1500 meters, while Sára Luca Bácskai and Cole Krueger have succeeded on 1500 meters.

On Saturday, the 1000 and 1500-meter races and the relay semifinals will be organized. On Sunday, races will be held on 500 and 1500 meters, and the finals of the relay will also be included in the program.
